DATING.FOR.LIFE – guest speaker Brett Ullman

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

– Philippians 2:3-4

Join us this week as we discuss the topic of dating! Dating has some heavy questions that go along with it:

“My friends are dating. Some of them are going too far, I think. My parents tell me to wait, but how long do I have to wait? How far is too far? Does the Bible say there’s just one person for me? How far can I go without regretting it later?”

Often introduced as an expert on media influences, special guest Brett Ullman travels North America speaking to adolescents and leaders on topics including sexuality, substance abuse and self-injury.

“So he got up and went to his father.
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
“The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
“But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.”

– Luke 15:20-24

God is a compassionate loving Father, and Jesus’ story of the prodigal Son is not only a vivid picture of the hope we have in the Gospel of Christ, but also of God’s father heart for us – his kids! Join us this Sunday night as we celebrate the ultimate Father :)

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
